Pregnancy System!


Good news everyone! I've just finished writing all 40 pregnancy events, as well as a new item that will speed up gestation. All Taco has to do is to code it all in and it'll be ready to try out! Keep in mind we're starting with just human pregnancy, but after some script enhancing (mainly stomach size support) it'll be robust enough to support other types of pregnancies as well.

Just a quick overview for what's planned:


  • Characters will have two attributes Gestation and Fertility. Pregnancies will be based upon the rate of 9 in game months (270 in game days).
  •  A higher gestation will decrease the time between each pregnancy event (some may be skipped with higher attributes in this area, not sure yet). 
  • A higher fertility rate will increase the chance to get additional offspring and have an effect on stomach size.
  • I won't be detailing NORMAL birthing, sorry :P. Monster birth (like tentacle pregnancies) are a whole different story.
  • I'm not going to really focus on offspring that you may have, at least not at this time. Perhaps just a running tally or something.

  1. Best news I heard all day. I love to see pregnancy implemented in these games.

    I do hope that we wont limit ourselves unnecessarily, I was disappointed to learn that Anonymous Man declared he would draw the line at triplets for his game, Cursed!.

  4. now is it only the PC that can get impregnated or are PC's going to be able to impregnate certain NPC's?

    1. Only PC pregnancy is currently finished. I could easily however, modify the same texts for NPC pregnancy as well, but there really wouldn't be any point in that until we develop the NPCs more and have them capable of living inside the apartment with the PC.

    2. (don't know how to say this without it sounding rude so I apologize in advance if I come across as such but) how high on the priority list is (not so much the pregnancy aspect) developing the NPC's and them moving in with the PC?

    3. I would have to talk to Taco about it, but it's not too far off I'd imagine. As a general rule, our development of specific sectors goes a lot faster if the writing's done and then all Taco has left to do is build the scaffold (the code part) and it'll be ready. I suppose I could start working on writing NPC dialogue so we could get moving towards this goal, but again, I'll check with Taco and see if I can get us all working on the same thing.

    5. This is largely correct. My slowest hurdle with getting content out is not having writing done. I gladly will write myself, but with work and a normal social life I at times am limited as to what I can accomplish code wise. When it boils down to it, if we need more coding or writing done...I'm 9 times out of 10 going to code.

      Right now what's actually happening is a small backlog of stuff so when I do get a large chunk of time to code, I have several things built up to add to the game :)

    I hope that there are some disadvantages from pregnancy.
    Otherwise why to protect yourself? :D

    1. Since I wrote the system to be more realistic, certain attributes and skills go up and down during certain points of the pregnancy. Of course if you use the new Gestaswyft potion, then you could skip over some of these.

  7. I'll never get why no one details things like the birthing or whole after part with children and maybe partners. Seems like it would be the entire point of the fetish, but, its not my thing to start with, so eh.

    1. Well for me its the pregnancy thats the best part, though some may prefer the birth or part with children more. For a game like this, I'd prefer if children weren't too interactive or at least optional to interact with, because that could lead to some time consuming consequences.

    2. Indeed. You have numerous factors include trying to make interactive content that's not that influencing on the game itself, which of course you need someone to write. Also, you have the fact that you're talking about taking care of kids in an Adult Only game, which can make some people understandably uncomfortable.

    3. I'm not always into the pregnancy thing, but when I am randomly it's the whole concept of expansion more then anything else if that makes sense.

    1. I'm very happy that people are interested in this build. I've been rather busy lately so I haven't done a ton but plan to hopefully roll this thing out mid next week or sometime next weekend. Remember, there won't be a ton of event support for it yet and the feature will continue to evolve and become better. When it is added, so to will a way to trigger it.

    1. Perhaps by next major build release, but that call relies entirely on Taco's shoulders since that involves creating a wholly new attribute for butt descriptions.

  10. I haven't checked this out for a long time, but I see Pornarium still suffers from two major flaws. I don't say this to be nasty, but in the hopes that I can encourage you to make some effort to improve the game in those areas.

    1. Font size.

    The font size used by interface elements (not the main descriptive text) is still too large unless I set the Windows system text size to small (and then I have trouble reading things like menus, titles, etc. in Windows). By 'too large' I mean that the text is often large than the space it has on the screen so words get cut off (e.g. 'Arous' instead of 'Arousal').

    It would be great if you could either
    a) Include an option to change font size for all interface elements.
    or
    b) Change the interface buttons resize to fit the text, and allow for more space in text labels, etc.

    2. The split in the interface between 'Travel/Sleep' and 'Main Screen' is clumsy, at least in my opinion. Why can't 'sleep' and 'move' actions be included in the general list of available actions instead? It is also odd that you reserve blank space for 'Sleep and Travel Options' when the player in viewing the 'Main Screen' (and vice versa).

    I hope that you take the above in the spirit it is offered, as constructive criticism.

    Have you considered releasing the code for the project, or asking for volunteer programming assistance?

  11. Maybe its me... but I can't find a download for any of the newer builds after 0.45a. The patch only patches 0.52a to 0.53a, but I can't find a torrent link (checked blog, wiki) for 0.52a. Unless I'm blind. I might be. :(
