Experimental Build (0.47a Released)

I've posted a link to the experimental build torrent here.

The experimental build doesn't add a ton of stuff yet (I just have awoken from my hibernation Rwaaaaaar!) but I'm back to working on the game. Here's the focus of this update:

  • Attribute Window Redone!
  • Skill Window Redone!
  • Difficulty Slider added to options window!
  • Added an NPC that will train you in melee, ranged, and defense while boosting some of your attributes. This is a good way to get your character a bit more combat ready (500EP a lesson).
If you want a lot of new stuffs I'm afraid you'll be sad for now, but once again I'm back to working on the game ^_^

Let me know how they all work and feel free to give me feedback on them.

Here's what I'm working on in the immediate future:

  • Pregnancy System (may not have much content, but I want the system working finally)
  • Reputation System (doesn't have to have much content, but I want it to be working)
  • Rework Lucid Dreaming

Here's what I want to work on in the more distant future:

  • Tinkering
  • Ability to modify your house, have NPCs move in with you, etc.
  • Finally add Olivia's awesome map to the game!
After the "distant future" stuff is done, there will be a couple more things before the "alpha" of the game is done. What does that mean exactly? It means that I'll be shifting the game to beta which is mostly the content generation phase of the game's development. This doesn't mean I won't be adding content between alpha and beta, I'm just primarily focused on the game system at this point. If you have any events you'd like to submit, you can send me an e-mail and discuss it with me if you want to help flesh out some of the content during this phase as well :)

  3. I know that having just gotten back you might not be looking forward to bug reports, but here they come.

Got this one on a new char, just got done with the creation and went to the attributes screen. Scrolling the physical description box then closing attributes screen causes a crash.

I can get you the error text if you need it.

    1. Glad I'm not the only one. Just did a fresh install of the VB powerpack and .net 4.0. Then I started a new char, and still got the crash. I've uploaded the error text again, and it looks to be a little different then that last one.

    2. Hmmm, that one is a bit of a doozie, I'll see if I can find a way to fix it o.O I'm not entirely sure what's wrong :P

    3. Also, you say this only occurs when exiting?

    4. Yes, when exiting the appearance screen, after scrolling the physical description text box. At least that's how it is for me.

  6. Why is there only a torrent download?

  7. It's an experimental build so just a torrent. Future non-experimental builds feature alternative sources.

  8. I love the updated attributes and skills screens.
Unfortunately I have found some bugs:
etiquette [APP/INT/LST] - info bubble shows affected by APP/APP/LST
fucking [STR/STA] - info bubble shows affected by INT/INT
orgasm denial [INT] - info bubble shows affected by blank/blank

In character creation, using growing up options:
    1 - a house in the woods
    2 - loving parents
    3 - athletic
    6 - I loved my partner's body
    3 - laboratory,
info bubble shows my 'fucking' skill as 1.10, laboratory is the only past option selected to affect 'fucking'(-5%)

Just doing my part as a follower.

    1. Thanks! In regards to the display of skills, those are likely just typos on my part and I appreciate you fixing them.

As for the character creation option, I'll have to fix those >< Thanks for bringing those up as well :)

    1. Your skill is actually increasing, it's a display bug (which I did fix for the next build).

  10. What do you have to do to be able to perform in Madame Mamrya's? Is performing actually in yet?

The same happens during character creation, using debug new cc mode.

  13. The new screens are great! Good job! I just find it a bit missleading since, as far as I can tell, there's always a 'maxed' atrribute that's the one that set the bar max value. I also think the skills screen could use the same 'TOTAL: xx' that is used on the attribute screen to make it even easier to check your stats.

    1. You are correct about the max attribute value for the bars being set relative to the highest attribute. The reason for this is because the cap is relative to the area you are in. I didn't want to just set it at 300 as we won't see that cap for awhile.

    2. I see... maybe you should consider changing it to some intervals. Something like 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, etc. I may be wrong, but I think this way you'll have a nice balance, showing room for improvement without giving a oppressing sensation of weakness from being too far from the max.

    3. That's a fair point, I'll something to that effect in the next build.

    1. The download is a torrent file so you'll need something like uTorrent to be able to download it.
