Experimental (?) Build 0.39a up

Check the downloads page for the link. This is mostly a bug fix build but it includes a couple new things like a random item merchant and spiky hair (available at the barber's).

If this build does successfully remove the annoying duplicate EQ bug, then I will make this the official build in a day or two.

  1. I haven't experimented yet, but just a quick question, have you added the Southern Wing for the Adult Classes at the University? That always seems to nibble at my nerves when I'm playing. xD

  2. I found an error that was also in 0.38a. Whenever I buy any equipment at the shop like the leather armor, it takes the money that the equipment costs but it doesnt appear in my equipment menu. I bought a full set of leather armor as well as a longbow and a greatsword and my money went down the right amounts but my equipment screen still showed that I only have shirt, pants, boots, fists, and rocks. And yes I know how to use the equipment screen as I used it in version 0.35. This error makes combat impossible since I have not yet found a single enemy that I can beat with just my clothes and fists.

  3. sorry for the double post also when i "purchase the armor or weapons the buttons to purchase them don't disappear.

  4. not a bug I assume, since you can drop equipment now, it would mean that if you dropped store-bought items, you wouldn't be able to buy them again.

  5. It's not from me dropping the equipments as they never appear in my equipment screen for me to BE ABLE TO drop them in the first place. It's like the programming for the money to be deducted for buying the equipment works but the coding to put the equipment in my inventory doesn't trigger. Also other places that I get equipment from do the same thing. Equips from the government building, the random merchant, and the dresser in my dressing room in madame mamryas also don't appear in my equipment page.

  6. Not sure if anyone one else is having this problem. When making a new char the cock sizes are being measured in es, "3 es (7.62cm) when flaccid and 6es (15.24cm) when erect". In game the measurements go back to inches. Also on the Attribute screen the descriptions for ears, nose, and tail are default on, "On top of your head rests a pair of , you also possess nose." and "Aside from the previously mentioned body parts, right above your bum a tail about." This is a new save, and the game is in a different directory than my 0.35 game. Had this problem in 0.38 too, I had just thought it was a glitch.

    1. ^I'll vouch for your same problem, thought it was just a glitch with my game as well. Another thing I noticed is that my height is listed as "9ft 8.000000000000004 in" after a couple orc potions. Maybe I'm alone in this as well but I doubt it.

    2. I also experienced the armor problem. It won't appear in equipment. Tried in versions 0.45a and 0.57a

  7. Something happened that caused me to lose all my progress.
I was selling the new armours to the store so my equipment wasn't cluttered with them and then another window popped up saying something alone the lines of 'not found in dictionary' with 3 buttons underneath it saying: restart (not sure on this one) / continue / close (not sure)
i clicked continue so i could save my progress but when i tried to click save it just kept popping up and after a while all the buttons in-game (e.g. do you want to sleep/travel) had disappeared so i had to close the game.

  8. Yay....Anonymous option in the blog..

    I found a small bug...i think. I was spamming the fountain a little bit and...got several ORc-potions...
first: I think the Orc TF doesn't finish..always repeats the skin changing.

second: the growth...in the end my Char was about...8 Meters high...and still had a weight of 80 kilogramms...

  9. Not seeing it reported yet so : the loot system seems to be bugged.
Every time I should earn something other than just money, be it from winning a fight, getting the pack from the government office or buying a random something from the highway merchant, I end up with an "error#53 generated by mscorlib", and nothing new in my pockets (along with a [Loot-L1-VG/G/S/VS/RAss/Rarmor/Rweapon/...] tag in the text zone).
Except for the broken mirror, which does give the error message yet still is added to the inventory.
In the case of the highway merchant, the payment is still taken normally, as it should.
Pure money loots cause no error - though you do get first a purse full of money, and then move to emptying your fallen foe's pockets for a second helping of coins (at least in the slum bandits encouter). Not sure if that's on purpose, but could be.

Apparently the problem stems from the game looking for eqdb.peqdb in My Documents, where by default it's not. Store-bought equipment on the other hand works fine for me (I still have two of each of the starting clothes, which by the way are not equipped by default, but that's not really worth mentioning).

Irrelevant detail while on the equipment topic : the bikini bottom you can find in your locker at Mamrya's appears nowhere, equipment or inventory. Also, you find it pretty much every time you search for it, no matter how many times you've already done it. I'm guessing it's just not fully implemented yet, considering the location, but I'll mention it just in case.

On the Orcish Potion thing, I'm also a bit surprised at just how huge the height gain is.
Basically, if the 4 points you gain are supposed to be feet, then it works. If however a point is supposed to represent an inch, something is wrong.
That or it just somehow specifically fucks up the metric conversion in a strangely specific and limited way.

I'll also second the report of feet and inches still ruling the abilities page and appearing sometimes in game, even with the metric conversion checked.

    1. It is supposed to be inches, I'm surprised that it is appearing in feet o.O.

Also, it shouldn't be looking in the my documents folder. I think I used an incorrect reference that works on some systems but for a few it's problematic. It should be looking in the same folder as your save but there's two ways of doing such a thing, I may using the incorrect one.

    2. I kind of suspected something like that : no way a bug like wouldn't have been reported earlier otherwise. In case it is indeed a system thing, I'll just add that I am (still) running on XP. Could be it ?

For the orcish one, I'm not 100% sure it's adding feet, what with playing in metric and not being serious enough to check precisely the conversion (sorry). But it's definitely not adding inches and it seems pretty close to feet. I'll try to check more precisely if I get the opportunity.

  10. I wanted to save a game, but acidentally clicked on "Load", canceled and saved. However, later on I realised all my Spells were gone. Telepathy, Air Blast, everything was gone. Since I realised it too late, I no longer have a save file where I still got my Spells. Any possibility to add them back? Checking the Tower again won't bring them back and I'd hate to start a new Character.

    1. e-mail me your save, I'll see if I can figure out what's wrong :P

  11. When using a foxglove I can obtain the tail, nose, eyes but not the ears.

It just repeats the message that I got them, even though when I look into my attributes tab,I don't have them.

Also,on certain equipment that has a modifier that just says "error",is that intentional?

    1. Also, when I use the spell Erotic Visions in battle it seems 100% likely to never work,I tested it countless times on every enemy and it just does nothing.

    2. Erotic Visions works basically 100% of the time for me, it's reading them that never works.

  12. Could you reupload the game file, it seems the download host took it down.
