New Stuffs Done and Skyrim

So Skyrim came out on Friday...that was bad for this game and good for me :P

I have been utterly hooked and have been unable to tear myself away. This week is a rather light week for me work-wise so I've had a lot of time off (I am also taking the weekend off to take a trip with some friends). Sadly most of this time has been spent in Skyrim but today I've decided to spend several hours before work dedicated to programming. I've finished combat, equipment, AND magic. I'm working on the finishing touches (things like cooldowns / uses on magic)  and adding some basic stuff (a few weapons, a fight or two, a few spells) and then I will post a build. Whether or not that will be today or not I'm not sure.

I've been rather quiet lately but that has been due to Skyrim. It's best I get that soul-devouring game out of my system so I can continue living my normal existence again :P

  1. Maybe Skyrim will be good inspiration for things to add to the equipment, magic, and combat systems. :P

  2. I'm sure people have noticed (or am fairly sure) that the way skills are increased is somewhat similar to the Elder Scrolls games ;)

Pornarium is certainly a skill based RPG as is the Elder Scrolls series (though they use a hybrid of a skill based / level system) and is one of the larger influencing factors for this game. I don't know if Skyrim has shown me anything neat this go around but just being immersed in such a good RPG can't be harmful...well except that it's simply distracting ^_^.

A certain area that people have been saying has "vanished" since 0.20a will make it's reappearance...I do recommend you make sure that you are smart enough (*cough* hint *cough*) to make it inside such a location.

  3. Skyrim is awesome. I prefer Oblivions face creator for characters, though.

  4. ...But Oblivion's face creator was only capable of making ugly people :P

  5. Skyrim rules, even with the crappy graphics, compared to most new BIG games, idotic bugs & few other...limitations it's by far the most captivating/entertaining game this year.
so if you keep playing skyrim I don't blame you

  6. ...You must be seeing the texture loading bug. Cause the graphics I'm seeing are beautiful. Not nearly on the level of ME2 (which I'm still holding as the benchmark for graphical superiority, since I have yet to see anything better-looking), but still impressive

  7. i didn't say it's ugly and no i don't have a problem with texture loading.i said the graphics are crappy compared to most new big games and they are.
the reason for this is the engiene wich is older than some of the people who play skyrim so even if you improve it to infinity, wich they sort of did, you will still have some limitations hence most new games and a few not so new games look better .
PS:I like the ME2 grahipcs but hey are not the best.(BF3,Crysis 2..& a few others )

  8. Er. You are aware that Bethesda created a brand new engine specifically for Skyrim, right?

  9. I won't start an argument over preference here. I'll just say that I highly disagree, and suggest that you check your facts in the future.

Do you have any idea how long it will take for the next update?

  11. I just got back from a sort of mini-vacation. I don't want to put an exact time on it yet but it could be as early as tomorrow.

  12. fine i don't want to waste time with an argument either but no offence i do not care for marketing much that's why i don't check "the facts"...still if they call that brand new i am amazed they did not declare that pigs can fly ,but that's just a personal opinion
